Why of course! I should be honored. What a very cool theme.

And an equally lovely crowd for a dinner party.

How could I possibly turn down a friend who's in bed & completely delirious
from cold medication! Besides, I wouldn't miss the opportunity to sample
the culinary creations of this very distinguished group.

Yes & possibly yes. I certainly wouldn't put myself in the same category
of cooks (and/or writers) as most of those on the above list, so any
recommendation of a complimentary dish for your planned centerpieces would
be appreciated; particularly if there is going to be a coordinated culinary
theme as opposed to a random potluck.

I bet I could be. I have no 4th of July plans yet that I know of.

Hmm, well, I'm not either. I am a good eater, though. :)

I have no idea who MFK Fisher was. Please tell me, and should I read
one of her books soon?

Little silver trout may or may not be served at the dinner,
depending on the angler's luck, and whether or not when I
turn to stoke the fire it turns into a glimmering girl.
Should the latter event occur, I will likely not, however,
eave my guests to their own devices while I wander after her.
I'd rather eat truit au bleu than celestial apples, at least
on that particular day.

Well, not now! Do you know about Suzanne's party Saturday starting
at 4pm? If not, let me know and I'll forward the announcement to you.
She's in Redwood City, I think (between 101 -- off Willow -- and 280

How about you loan me a "good" (you decide, it'll be my first time so
go easy on me) MFK Fisher to loan me St. Patrick's day at Fibbars. I
have a class that night but will be out of there by 9:30 and will head
over to join the festivities.

Somehow we will be there, either boarding the puppies in Vancouver or with a
friend in the bay area.We will be cooking and a cookbook is a solid YES.
We have read all her books and are dyed in the wool MFK nuts. She is the only
person I know who could make Campbell's tomato soup and cinnamon sound like
food for the God's. She is the only writer I know, who inspires food lust. I
particularly love the piece where the idiot friend ruins her lamb curry. I
wanted to boil him alive..
Aside from MFK... are stories by Gerald Durrell when he was young living on
the isle of Corfu. It inspired a Greek food period in our lives. Tells you how
long ago we read it.
..I wish your cold a short life...take care...cg

Woohoooooo! *bounce bounce*

Boy oh boy oh boy. So, I suspect you won't need me to inspire recipes for
you, since you're as nuts about her as I am. If you do want me to suggest,
let me know.

*hugs*
